Our Paperwork is Submitted!

We received notice from our facilitator in Ukraine that our adoption paperwork has been submitted to the authorities there.  We should be hearing from her in about 3 weeks to find out when our appointment with the adoption department in Ukraine will be.

It hardly seems real!  :-)

Please pray on Thursday

We heard from our facilitator that she has received the last of our paperwork and that she has an appointment scheduled to turn it in THIS THURSDAY!  Please pray all goes well!

Adoption Paperwork Submitted! (Again)

We re-did and re-sent the paperwork that had "expired" (was more than 6 months old).  We're praying it will get to Ukraine in time and that our facilitator will be able to submit it Thursday, July 24th.  If, for some reason, this does NOT happen, we will have more paperwork expire and need to be re-done.

The Lord is providing the funds we need.  We have around $32,000 toward the adoption costs.  We're not sure exactly how much we'll need, but we're told to expect somewhere between $30,000 and $36,000.  I'm quite sure the Lord will provide anything additional that we may need, in His perfect timing.

Speaking of timing, I sure thought all this would be a done deal by now.  We've had glitches and hold-ups all along the way.  But one thing we know for sure and certain--the Lord's timing is perfect!!!  His ways are not our ways--they're so much higher than ours that we can't even fathom.  So we'll continue to pray and trust His perfect ways.

And we also need prayer for patience....

*Sigh*

Just a little while after my previous post, I heard from our facilitator.  It seems that the office in Ukraine is now closed (holiday maybe?), and the soonest the paperwork can be submitted is July 17.

So, we will have to go back and re-do three documents that will have expired by then.  Two of them won't be a big deal, but the other one is a bit trickier, as it is one that has to be apostilled in Washington DC.

And so we wait.  I'm so thankful the Lord's timing is perfect.

Need Prayer for Speed!

We need prayer!  We finally received our last apostilled documents (certification of the notaries) from the Department of State, which completes our adoption packet that needs to be sent to Ukraine.  We will get that sent to our facilitator today, expedited (Lord willing).

BUT, there's one problem.  One of our documents was prepared and dated WAYYYY back on Jan. 10.  This means that our packet MUST be turned in to the Ukrainian government by July 10 or it is invalid.  And all of it needs to be translated into Ukrainian by that point, also.

If it's not there by July 10, we're going to have to re-do some of the paperwork, one of which is a form that had to be send to Washington DC for apostilling, which means another long wait.  And sending things to Ukraine is PRICEY!

So, please pray for the Lord to speed this packet along, and that our facilitator will have time to get it prepared and submitted in time.
